About TOBY
Toby Brookes spent four decades in advertising and marketing before returning to his first love: writing.
A graduate of Ohio University's Scripps School of Journalism with a degree in Journalism and English, Toby built a successful career in public relations, advertising, and marketing. But the dream of writing fiction never faded. After retiring, he dedicated himself to the craft, studying at Stanford and participating in writing workshops before publishing his first two novels.
His work follows Matthew Banks, a gifted but solitary ceramic artist navigating questions of purpose, connection, and belonging. The novels are the first installments in a planned trilogy of contemporary literary fiction that explores the quiet complexities of ordinary lives.
